This year we will spend a day in Washington, D.C. traveling to the White House and the monuments around the mall. We will stop and pray at one of the abortuaries in D.C. and hope to be a visible presence to share the Gospel of Life on the streets and byways. Our mission is to encourage the faithful to endeavor to live out their vocational call in the light of the "Gospel of Life" and to do acts of love in their marriages, families, parishes, communities, and in all life situations. We are responding to the request of the late Pope John Paul II to '"Place your intelligence, your talent, your enthusiasm, your compassion, and your fortitude at the service of life! Have no fear." Pilgrims are Families, Young Adults, Sisters of Life, Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, and Fr. Peter Westwill participate in this pilgrimage with the sisters and brothers riding in their habits! This year we will be ending with a Mass on the Vigil of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the Holy See Embassy with Archbishop Sambi(Papal Nuncio) as the Celebrant and will be joined by the Walkers from Crossroads who walk all summer across the country as a silent witness on the highways and the Missionaries of the Eucharist who speak on the Theology of the Body from Maine to NY and the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal who walked across Lebanon this summer spreading the message that the "Future Depends on Love" throughout their walking and preaching tour featuring Fr. Lawrence Schroedel, Br. Youssef, and Br. Martin. To take a look back on the first year please see Paul Tomas' beautiful photos of the 2007 Pilgrimage including the Sisters of Lifehere!
